Azzamo Premium¶

Azzamo Premium provides paid access to Nostr infrastructure using a Bitcoin-native, time-based model.

Instead of subscriptions or accounts, premium access is linked directly to your Nostr public key and activates automatically when paid.

What Premium is¶

Azzamo Premium is a shared access layer across Azzamo services.

With active premium time, your npub can:

Write to the Azzamo premium relay
Publish without strict rate limits
Upload media using Azzamo Blossom
Receive priority handling on supported services

Premium time is additive and portable across devices and clients.

What Premium is not¶

To avoid confusion:

Premium is not a subscription
Premium is not tied to an email or account
Premium does not lock you into a client
Premium does not grant ownership of the platform

It is simply paid access to infrastructure resources.

Time-based access model¶

Premium access is measured in time, not usage counters.

You purchase a fixed amount of time
Time is linked to your npub
Time counts down only when applicable services are used

This model avoids recurring charges and gives full user control.

Payments with Lightning¶

Premium time is purchased using Bitcoin Lightning.

Invoices are generated on demand
Payment activates premium time automatically
No stored payment methods
No auto-renewals

Once paid, premium access is available immediately.

Interaction with relays¶

With active premium time:

Your events are accepted by the premium relay
Write limits are relaxed or removed
Events are archived for long-term availability

Reading from the relay remains free for everyone.

Interaction with Blossom¶

Premium access unlocks media uploads.

Upload images, video, and audio
Content-addressed and verifiable
Subject to storage quotas and retention rules

Fair use and limits¶

Premium access does not mean unlimited resources.

Fair use policies apply
Abuse or automated flooding is not allowed
Extreme usage may trigger additional limits

Limits are designed to protect service quality for all users.

Expiration and renewal¶

When premium time expires:

Writing to the premium relay stops
Media uploads may be limited or disabled
Existing content is not immediately removed

You can add more time at any moment to resume access.

When Premium makes sense¶

Azzamo Premium is a good fit if you:

Post frequently on Nostr
Depend on reliable publishing
Upload media regularly
Want predictable behavior without subscriptions

For occasional usage, the free relay may be sufficient.
